Monday update on Chief Charlie - After a restless Sunday where he tried to pull various tubes out and it took 6 people to keep him from trying to get out of bed. Today he is going well! He's able to sit in the reclining chair for hours at a time. He is more alert & responsive. Biggest improvement is speech. He can reply in small, mostly clear, sentences of 4 to 6 words. Haven't heard the jumbled sentences like the last 2 days. Facial swelling is going down some. He can mostly pull himself up & stand while holding himself up when they move him from chair to bed. CT scan was good in comparison to before. Swallow test still not acceptable, but he can handle thickened liquids and puréed foods a little. Still on feeding tube. Thank you to the members and citizens that came out on Saturday evening for the Prayer Vigil for Chief Charlie Jones. Over 50 people were in attendance.

Center Township VFC also held a Prayer Vigil at the same time.

Update #2 for today: He has started moving his right arm and is trying to form words. He is frustrated that his speech is slow. They put the feeding tube back in due to failing the swallow test. Hopefully this will pass soon. Progress is slow with some bumps in the road. I will take it for him ! He is a fighter.

UPDATE:

The breathing tube is out, breathing on his own. The movement to his right side has not returned yet. Waiting for neurologist to come in. Physical therapy will help diagnose this. Keep the prayers going and all the good thoughts. Remember the candle light service tonight at 8pm at Whiteford firehouse!

My husband and I will be attending the prayer vigil for my Uncle Charlie this evening -we live in Bel Air, MD. Really appreciate all of the love, support & prayers ❤️🙏🏻 He is making progress, praise God!!!!

Prayers for Charlie, WHEN MY Becky had her stroke, it was also to the left side of brain, so right side was affected, it took a long time,with a lot of Physical Therapy, and other therapy,but she was blessed with healing and only some speech problems.
