It is with great sadness that the Whiteford VFC Officers and membership announce the passing of Company Patriarch and Life Member Ronnie Barben on August 25, 2026.

Ronnie dedicated more than 50 years of service to both the Delta-Cardiff and Whiteford Volunteer Fire Companies. Throughout his many years of service, Ronnie proudly served as Chief Engineer and as a Board Director, leaving behind a lasting legacy of dedication, leadership, and commitment to the fire service and his community.
In Ronnie’s memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company, or Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wagner-Elfner and Harkins Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Slate Ridge Cemetery.

Fire Department Notice

Fire Department personnel attending Ronnie’s services are respectfully requested to attend in dress uniform.

At the request of the Barben family, no Fire/EMS apparatus will be permitted in the funeral procession due to limited space at the funeral home and cemetery.

Utility vehicles are welcome to participate.
