pDuring the height of Tuesdays storms Whiteford Volunteers amp mutual aid companies were kept busy with 2 working dwelling fires in the first due area.ppstrongBox 609 strong- strong1858hrs. – 800blk. Sherrill Drive strong- Companies were dispatched to the location for a dwelling fire with rescue. Dispatch advised units that multiple calls were received reporting a working fire with rescue. At 1703hrs. units arrived and found a working fire to 70×30 mobile home. Crews began search amp rescue operations as command confirmed the homeowners whereabouts. At 1709hrs. Command requested a Tanker Task Force assignment amp additional Medic unit. After 14mins. Command ordered an evacuation of the structure due to deteriorating conditions. Crews began exterior defense operations and the homeowner was located nearby. The fire was placed under control in 20mins. The Fire Marshal responded and determined the cause from a lighting strike. Units cleared at 1932hrs.ppstrongBox 616 – 1843hrs. -4700blk. Rocks Rd. -strong On-scene units from the above incident were dispatched for a Dwelling Fire. Dispatch advised responding units the caller only advised that the house was on fire. At 1846hrs. units arrived and found heavy smoke showing. Crews located the fire at the basement laundry room and had the fire under control in 10mins. Crews assisted with overhaul amp ventilation operations. The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause. which may be a result of a lighting strike.
