pOver 100 people attended the Whiteford VFC annual banquet held at the Whiteford American Legion. The event emcee was past Deputy Chief Rusty Leftwich. Several member were recognized for the past year efforts and dedication. This years highlights was the 4th. Chiefs Life Saving Award. OnnbspMarch 17th 2013 at about 1700hrs.nbspFire Company President Larry Holbrook suffered a severe heart attack whilenbspdriving. He was able to drive to the station andnbspsummons help.nbspParamedics Marianna Adams EMT Laura Lynn Solle amp FF Shayne Jackson found Larry inside hisnbspvehicle barely conscious. Additional personnel Paramedics Cort Adamsnbspamp Marcia Barbennbsparrived to assist as needed. They aggressivelynbsptreated and transported him to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center whilenbsphospital staffnbspcontinued additional emergency treatment. It was later learned thatnbspLarry had suffered a heart attack that was term as a quotWidow Makerquot which many people do not survive. Larry was released after a short stay from the hospital and has made a full recovery.
