NEW RESCUE At 1500 hours Whiteford Volunteers announce the placement of Rescue 651 into service. Rescue 651 is a 2000 E-One Heavy Rescue Cyclone II Extended 8 man cab. The unit has a 19ft. non walk-in body and is powered by a Series 60 Detroit engine Allison Automatic Transmission. This unit is equipped with a Lima Mac 40kw Direct-Drive generator 2-Will-Burt 9kw Telescoping light towers4 Fixed Side 750 watt Flood Lightsa Ramsey 20000lbs. rear hydraulic winch a 12 ASME bottle 6000 psig Air Cascade system. Rescue 651 carries a full complement of Hurst hydraulic tools air bags HyperTherma Plasma cutter assorted power air hand tools both manual air rescue strutsrescue rope EMS equipment assorted ladders pike poles. This unit was purchased in September of 2007 from the Mill Creek V.F.C. in Delaware. NEW MEDIC UNIT On 120107 Whiteford Volunteers placed in-service a 2006 Ford F450 Wheeled Coach Ambulance that is designated as 691. This unit replaced the original 1997 ambulance. This unit was purchased in August of 2007 from Wheel Coach in New York. These unit purchases allowed the company to save over 500000.00 dollars of expense instead of opting the future purchase of new replacements.
