pWVFC personnel began to prepare for hurricane Irene earlier in the week. Approximately 27 personnel staffed the station for a 72 hours periodnbspbetween 827 thru 829. Volunteers responded to a total of 16 FireEMS calls during the storm.nbspA majority of responsesnbsp were for polewiresnbspdown calls. On 82811 at about 0030hrs. personnel responded to the 3800blk. of Bay Rd. fornbspa treenbspinto a dwelling. Crews found a treenbspthat had damaged the roof to the residence. The homeowner made arrangements to staynbspelsewhere for the night. Personnel continued to respond to storm related service callsnbsponto the week.nbspnbspp
